How To Create This Hairpiece
|
The Deluxe
Wiglet Hairpiece is done by first designing a Stretch
Frame foundation.
This type
of foundation is made with front and rear Lace-net Foundation
Inserts. The Lace-net Foundation Inserts are sewn to
two 1/4 inch elastic bands to complete the Outer Foundation
Frame. To complete this Hairpiece a diamond pattern
Inner Frame consisting of Wefting Strips are
sewn between the Outer Frame.
To prepare
this Hairpiece for wearing several attachment Comb
Clips are sewn to the Foundation Inserts.
To create
the front Foundation Inserts:
-
Hold a piece of Flat Lace Monofilament Material
over the front hairline area.
With
a helper:
-
Draw an outline (similar to the pattern showen
in the illustration) of the front insert.
-
(Creating several copies of the original insert
and sewing them together to create a thick foundation
insert is recommended.)
|
To create the FRONT Foundation Inserts:
-
Hold a piece of Flat Lace Monofilament
Material over the front hairline area.
With a helper:
-
Draw an outline (similar to the pattern
showen in the illustration) of the front
insert.
(Creating several copies of the original
insert and sewing them together to create
a thick foundation insert is recommended.)
To create the REAR Foundation Inserts:
-
Use above procedure to make Rear Insert.
|
 |
|
|
Attaching Elastic Bands to Outter Frame
|
Using a 1/4 inch Elastic Stretch Band
- 4 inches in length:
-
Sew one end of each 4" Elastic Band
to each side of Front Frame.
-
Sew opposite ends of Elastic Bands to
each side of Rear Frame.
(See illustration
for guidance.)
Because everyone's head shape and size
is slightly different... designing the
Outer Frame to fit you head is recommended.
For this take measurements of the area
where the Hairpiece is being designed
to fit and make adjustments to allow
for any changes in size and shape while
designing this Hairpiece.
When sewing together the Inner Frame
of Hairpiece allow for changes in the
length of each Wefting Strip.
|
|
You have the 2 options of trimming the
foundation edge.
Option 1.
-
You can use a 1/2 inch bias tape Trim
Ribbon.
Instructions:
a. Fold and pin Trim Ribbon over
edge of foundation allowing 1/4 inch
of Trim Ribbon to overlap each side
of the foundation.
b. Sew Trim
Ribbon to wrap edge of foundation.
-
You can use MHRW EasyTAB Compound to
seal the foundation edge.
Instructions:
a. Simply
brush MHRW EasyTAB Compound to entire
underside of foundation.
(Allow compound to dry completely before
proceeding.) |
|
Using a 4-1/4 inch Wefting Strip
:
-
Sew blender along underside edge of
front Insert Frame (as shown by dashed
line).
-
(Hair direction should flow as indicated
by arrows in illustration. See illustration
for guidance.)
.
