How To Create This Hairpiece
|
The Wrap
Around Ponytail Hairpiece foundation is made using an
lace-net material. To add strength to the foundation
two or more pieces of lace-net may be used. Pattern
outlines of this foundation are provided in illustration
below, please pick a size that matches with your hair
volume. To find your hair volume; style your hair into
a Ponytail, then measure the circumference of the Ponytail
for its exact size.
Should
it measure 3 inches use the large pattern; if 2-1/2
inches use the medium pattern; if 2-1/4 inches use the
smallest pattern. If these patterns are not exactly
the perfect size for your hair volume, then altering
them to a correct size may be necessary. Remember: This
is an adjustable foundation and simply by moving the
Velcro Tabs closer together allows the Hairpiece to
be adjusted tighter.
|
Designing the Foundation
|
First
:
1. Pick a pattern provided in illustration
below. 2. Create a lace-net foundation
from that pattern.
|
|
Use following steps for guidance
:
-
a. Lay a piece of lace-net over
the pattern shown in illustration.
-
b. Draw an outline of pattern
on to the lace-net
(Repete
for additional foundations).
-
c. Cut along outline to create
lace-net copy of Hairpiece foundation.
-
d. Combine foundations together
and sew them into one foundation.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Trimming the Foundation
|
.
You have 2 options for finishing the
foundation edge.
Option 1.
You can use a 1/2 inch bias tape trim
ribbon.
Instructions:
a. Fold and pin trim ribbon over edge
of foundation allowing 1/4 inch of trim
ribbon to overlap each side of the foundation.
b. Sew trim ribbon to wrap edge
of foundation.
Option 2.
You can use MHRW EasyTAB Compound to
seal the foundation edge.
Instructions:
a. Simply brush MHRW EasyTAB
Compound to entire underside of foundation.
|
|
(Allow compound to dry completely
before proceeding.)
|
|
|
|
|

The wrap-around part of the attachment system
is accomplished by using square, 7/8 inch
Velcro tape tabs. (Available at most Fabric
Stores.)
-
Sew Velcro tape tab on hair
side of foundation.
-
Sew other Velcro tape tab on
opposite side of foundation.
-
See illustrations below for guidance.

Sewing Hair to Foundation
|
|
Wefting strips must now be sewn to top
side of foundation to create your Hairpiece.
They must only be sewn to opposite side
of foundation not containing MHRW
EasyTAB Comound. A hair blender
must be sewn to the opposite side of
the foundation.

|
|
|
Adding Hair Blender
|
|
The wrap-around part of the attachment
system is accomplished by using square,
7/8 inch Velcro tape tabs. (Available
at most Fabric Stores.) This Hairpiece
requires a hair blender to hide and
blend the hair with wearers hair.
|
See illustration for guidance
:
-
Wefting strip No. 7 is the
hair blender.

be sewn to the underside top
edge of the foundation.)

as indicated by Position
No. 7.
(Hair flow must
be in direction indicated by
blender arrows.)

foundation, simply comb blender
hair back over top edge of foundation
into your own hair.
