There are various
type of wigs. Some are full wigs designed to cover a persons
own entire head of hair, while others are designed as partial
wigs that fill-in bald and balding areas only. What we will attempt
to explain on this web page is what is required to make a wig
or hair system look as natural as possible.
Full Wigs can
be made with finished natural looking front hairlines that resemble
hair growing from skin, or depending upon the hair style, they
can be made with bangs that comb forward to cover the entire
front hairline. How a wig is designed and created, and the quality
and length of the hair used for creating the wig can ultimately
determine its market value.
Wigs can be made
with any type of hair in order to simulate any persons own natural
culture, whether they are a black women's hair style, African
hair style or a white women's long silky hair style. Naturally,
it is the hair that determines how a wig appears when completed.
Wigs are commonly created with human hair, however, there are
several types of hair that are more commonly used for wig making.
Asian Remy Hair is most commonlly used hair used for creating
inexpensive wigs. European human hair is the most commonly used
hair used for creating expensive wigs and usually the longer
the hair length, the more a manufacturer charge for their wigs.
Wigs made using
French or Swiss Lace Wig Caps are normally less inexpensive than
those made using Monofilament Wig Caps. The reasons are quite
obvious, French and Swiss Lace material does not allow wigs to
appear as natural looking along the front hairline and part areas
compared to wigs that are made using Monofilament Wig Caps. French
and Swiss Lace materials resemble window screen of which does
not allow the hair density to be controlled as realistically
as with Monofilament material. It is how natural looking the
hairline or part looks that makes women or men interested in
wearing a wig or hair system.
With Monofilament
material hair can be ventilated in any desired density and direction
to allow a natural looking front hairline that will blend naturally
with any part design. The hair density can even be controlled
to allow the hair to be parted anywhere desired and hair may
even be ventilated along the perimeter hairline to allow a wig
to be styled into a ponytail or upsweet hairstyles.
NATURAL
LOOKING FRONT HAIRLINE AND PART
Creating
a quality, natural looking front hairline on a wig or women's
or men's hair sytem is easy and anyone can easily do it, with
proper training:
First the wig
maker must learn is how to design the wig or hair system, so
it fits the head properly or the bald or balding person perfectly.
Next the wig
maker must learn is how to ventilate hair. Single strands of
hair are recommended along the front hairline, part, and perimeter
areas. Two to three hair may be tied outside these areas. Never
should more than three hairs be tied into one knot. When more
than three hairs are tied together into a single knot they may
be visable and tend to come undone when the wig is shampooed
and the hair is combed or brushed.
When ventilating
hair, it is very important to space the hair so the hair density
looks natural and it blends well along the sides and rear areas.
It is also very important to ventilate the hair in a direction
that allows it to lay naturally with your desired hairstyle.
The last thing
that is imperative to create a natural looking front hairline
or perimeter on a Lace Wig or Hair System is to undercoat the
front hairline and wig perimeter with our EasyTAB Compound to
make it look like the hair is growing from skin.
