PROSTHETIC
BONDING ADHESIVES
When you think
of prosthetics, you imagine movie makeup or false noses or ears,
however, without a good adhesive, keeping them bonded to skin
can be quite troublesome.
There are many
adhesives that can be considered for bonding prosthetics to
skin, however, what must be considered before purchasing the
adhesive is how long you wish the adhesive to stay bonded to
your skin.
There are regular
daily adhesives that can be used to bond your prosthetic in
place for 1 or 2 days or you can use an extended wear adhesive
that will bond for up to weeks at a time.
Ultra Hold Adhesive
and Vapon Silicon Bonding Adhesive are specially formulated
adhesives that are formulated to bond various types of theatrical
prosthetics to the human body.
Using an inexpensive
adhesive to secure a superficial rubber prosthetic may work
satisfactory, however, weighty prosthetic may require a stronger
more aggressive bonding adhesive.
There are many
types of bonding adhesives available from the Internet, however,
it is advisable that you use only safe non-toxic bonding adhesive
that will not cause a allergic reaction.
