Most women will agree that they keep and use most of their make up far too long.
The truth is; make up does not last forever and it easily degrades and eventually it should not be used anymore to avoid serious skin health problems.
Below are some solutions regarding the following agonizing question: "How long should I keep using the same make up?"
Knowing when to throw away old make up is very important. And, equally importance is knowing when to throw away old make up applicators to help eliminate serious bacteria problems that are caused from old contaminated make up.
USE IT! or LOOSE IT! MAKE UP TIPS
Foundation Make Up
Do not keep or use liquid base make up foundations for longer than four to six months. Powder make up foundations should not be used for longer than one year.
Blush Make Up
Powder blush make up should not be used for longer than one year.
Eye Shadow Make Up
Eye shadow make up should not be used for longer than two years.
Make your eyes look bigger by simply using white eye liner make up:
Small Eyes
- Step: LIne inner eye rim of lower lashes with white eye pencil.
- Step: Sweep a light pink or silver shadow on inner corners of each eye.
Protruding Eyes
- Step: Sweep dark brown powder across eyelid, using a heavy pressure on outer corner of eye.
- Step: Apply same color to bottom portion of your eyes.
Hooded Eyes
- Step: Whisk a white shadow onto each eye lid.
- Step: Pull each eyebrow up from arch and apply some taupe eye shadow in the crease; when you release the brow,
the crease will adjust to a higher level. This is something like doing a mini eyelid lift on yourself.
These are great shades of lip make up for African American women: dark plums, mocha, chocolates, burgundies and deep berry shades. Soft pinks are pretty too.
It is recommended for American American women to avoid orange shades of lip gloss make up. For most black women yellow undertones clash on dark skin and give a washed out looking appearance.
Black women can create a great look by simply accentuate their eyes using dark brown, copper, beiges, prunes and burgundies make up. Light, powdery colors and iridescent colors that cover the whole eyelid should be avoided. Using a light brushing of loose, translucent make up powder over the top eyelid will illuminate your eyes for evening glamour.
Blush shades reds, pinks or burgundy make up can be applied too. The same can be done for lips and nail colors. If you have a wide nose, slimming can be accomplished by shading both sides with a darker tone make up. If you have thick eyebrows, you can easily narrow them simply by brushing "just enough" shading along the upper and lower edges to trim them up neatly.
Mascara Make Up
It is easy for bacteria to settle in mascara make up. This could be dangerous and possibility lead to an eye infection or irritation. Mascara make up should be replaced approximately every four weeks.
Lipstick Make Up
Most lipstick is only good for up to three months, however, when it smells funny, throw it away.
Make Up Pencils (Eye Liner , Lip Liner, etc.)
Sharpen your make up pencils before each use and keep the caps on them when not being used. They are usually usable for up to six months.
